Tim's Story
At the heart of health and wellness for Tim Rowley is confidence in our team of caregivers, gratitude for the people of Rumford Hospital and a new-found love of aerobic exercise.
Tim, longtime Rumford resident and third-generation paper maker, went to Rumford Hospital's Emergency Department last winter after feeling like he had the flu. He was weak, had no energy and noticed a slight tingle in the right side of his chest.
After a few tests, the team at Rumford Hospital decided to transport Tim by ambulance to Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute (CMHVI) for cardio diagnostic testing. Tim underwent bypass surgery and did remarkably well. He struggled with post-surgery restrictions for the first five weeks.
Tim joined the Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Rumford Hospital and found that it was life-changing. He made new friends, now reads nutrition labels, is committed to a healthier diet and a daily dose of aerobic activity.
