Retired President and CEO of community bank – Banking – Finance
Sherwood Moody was the President and CEO of three community banks in Maine (Mechanics’ Savings Bank), New Hampshire and Pennsylvania over the past 25 years and actively involved in the banking industry in both state and national levels over the past 35 years. In addition to serving as a Central Maine Healthcare Board Director, he has served as the Finance Committee Chairman at Valley Regional Hospital (2009-2017), and Board Vice Chairman at Clearfield Hospital (1992-1999). He has expansive experience in strategic planning, asset management and growth, retail and commercial lending, bond and stock investments, succession planning, compliance, and risk management.
A graduate from Cornell University and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Sherwood is a respected leader in the banking industry as well as the Lewiston/Auburn community. Community Service is important to Sherwood and he has served on a number of Boards including Kiwanis International, Rotary International and Chamber of Commerce. Fun Fact: Sherwood enjoys tending to his gardens, hiking and biking.
As a Central Maine Healthcare Board Director, Sherwood has strong essential competencies including: “C-Suite” corporate leadership background, experience governing or leading an organization through financially challenging environment/industry in transition, financial/accounting expertise, knowledge of consumerism and customer service, leadership experience in larger not-for-profit or public sector entity, legal or corporate compliance expertise, and strategic thinking/business development track record.
