How You Can Help

Food Donations

Organizations wishing to donate food for team members are asked to view the donation guidelines and complete the form.  For the safety of our team members, food must be commercially prepared. Central Maine Healthcare prefers to determine which unit, department or building receives the food based on who has received past donations and the number of meals being offered. Donors are asked to provide at least twenty four hours of notice to aid in coordination.  Thank you for supporting our CMH team!

Supply Donations

Like healthcare organizations across the state and the nation, Central Maine Healthcare is preparing for shortages of some medical supplies, including personal protective equipment (PPE), during the COVID-19 outbreak.

We are asking the community’s assistance in helping us in this public health emergency. We are currently asking for donations of new and unused:

Alcohol Hand Gel – Any form is welcome (pump bottles or refill bags).

Eye protection – Our standard is from Halyard SV50A, but anything that maximizes the protection of the area around the eyes is welcome.

Faceshields – Universal size that is intended to be disposable, but can be sterilized/wiped down.

Isolation Gowns, Level 3, non-sterile – Level 3 is preferred as it offers the most protection.

PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) Cartridges – We especially need HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters. These are cartridges for a hood used by people who can’t wear the N95 masks.

N95 Masks – Technically a “respirator,” an N95 is a disposable mask that filters out 95 percent of particles larger than 3 microns.

Fabric Masks – We are also happy to receive washable fabric masks created by local volunteers. These could be worn over N95s and thus prolong the usable life of the respirator.  If you are interested in making fabric masks download the Fabric Mask Fact Sheet to get started.

We cannot accept ANY donations containing latex.
