The Bridgton Hospital Emergency Department serves the Lake Region communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our emergency-certified physicians and nurses have access to comprehensive diagnostic equipment and technology and a full-service lab.
The Emergency Department has a separate entrance and waiting area, seven examination rooms, and a two-bay trauma room.
Bridgton Hospital is an important link in western Maine's trauma treatment system. LifeFlight of Maine provides helicopter trauma service to Bridgton Hospital. A helicopter pad on the hospital campus allows rapid transfer of critically ill or injured patients to CMMC or other regional referral centers.
The Bridgton Hospital Emergency Department also has a tele-neurological service available, as an affiliate with Massachusetts General Hospital. Neurosurgeons in Boston can assess possible stroke victims through the use of Skype, a computer program that allows live viewing.
