What Sets Us Apart
Baby-Friendly birthing center: This unique certification recognizes us as a hospital that takes extra efforts to make birth and postpartum care even better for mom and the new baby. Our goal is to promote and support breastfeeding, and we do that by providing optimal care, information, instruction, and support.
Private and comfortable birthing rooms: Our rooms include comfort options such as labor tubs to help ease birthing moms through labor. Televisions are also available in each room to help pass the time. You won’t need to switch rooms between birth and postpartum, so you can just settle into your all-inclusive space. We’ve made our birthing rooms to have plenty of space, so your spouse, partner, coach, or other family member can stay overnight with you.
Caring team members: The birthing center team members believe that the most rewarding birth experiences are enjoyed by families who are physically, emotionally and educationally prepared. Doctors and midwives at Bridgton Hospital work closely with nurses and childbirth educators to create educational programs to help new parents understand pregnancy, labor and birth, and caring for a new baby.
Classes for the whole family: Prenatal services available through the birthing center include our childbirth education classes, a sibling class, a grandparents’ class, and breastfeeding classes led by a Certified Lactation Consultant.
