Your donation to Central Maine Medical Center will help a number of programs and projects. Central Maine Medical Center is the largest hospital in central and western Maine. As a non-profit, we look to the community to support our efforts to continue offering the highest quality of healthcare. Your contribution will strengthen and enhance one or more of the following services and programs. If you would like to learn more about giving at Central Maine Healthcare visit our CMH Giving page.
Arbor House
The Arbor House is a hospitality house near CMMC that was created for patients traveling a long distance for treatments and for families visiting loved ones who are hospitalized. The 15-bedroom building has a common room, a kitchen, dining room, library, laundry facilities, a patio and a garden. Arbor House is free for its visitors and is supported through community donations.
Cardiac Care
The Central Maine Heart & Vascular Institute offers many services to keep you and your family heart-healthy. CMHVI services include a prevention program, outreach programs and also the most up-to-date diagnostics and cardiac procedures. CMHVI makes it possible for the residents of central and western Maine — and beyond — to get the best cardiac care available. You continue to make it possible with your support.
Emergency Department and Laboratory
Central Maine Medical Center’s Emergency Department continues to be an essential service for the residents of central and western Maine. More than 50,000 patients are treated at CMMC’s Emergency Department each year. CMMC is one of three trauma centers in Maine and is a home base for the medical emergency helicopter service LifeFlight of Maine. We use your donations to keep these services comprehensive and up-to-date.
Lifeflight of Maine
LifeFlight of Maine is a helicopter service that travels to the scene of accidents and also transfers patients from one hospital to another. CMMC is fortunate to have this service at the hospital. On average, LifeFlight transports 1,400 critically ill or injured patients each year. As a non-profit organization, LifeFlight depends on the generosity of people like you.
Patient Financial Assistance Fund
Many of our friends or neighbors are facing difficult times. Some are choosing between meeting basic household needs and seeking medical care. The Patient Financial Assistance Fund helps people who are facing difficult circumstances to pay for medical care when they need it.
Special Delivery Family Birthing Center
Donations to our Special Delivery Family Birthing Center are helping us accumulate the resources needed to construct a new maternity facility, thereby creating a state of the art environment for our OB/GYN and NICU patient care units.
Unrestricted Annual Fund
The CMMC Unrestricted Annual Fund allows us to use your donation where it is needed most which is an essential mechanism to sustain the Hospital’s charitable mission. Our volunteer Board of Trustees has oversight of this fund and you can trust that they will apply your gift wisely.
