Experienced reconstructive surgeons to work with Bennett Breast Care Center team
Two experienced and sought-after reconstructive surgeons have joined Central Maine Healthcare
Therese K. White, M.D., FACS, and Thomas E. Vaughan, M.D., FACS, who practice at Plastic and Hand Surgical Associates of South Portland, will support Dr. Lisa Rutstein and other surgeons at the Bennett Breast Care Center. Both physicians, Fellows of the American College of Surgeons, are certified by the American College of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. White is Director of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Maine Medical Center and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at Maine Medical Center for Tufts University School of Medicine. She is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and has also served as a member of the Lahey Clinic surgical staff. Dr. White graduated from Dartmouth College and the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed her General Surgery Residency at Maine Medical Center and her Residency in Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts, with training in Microvascular Surgery. Dr. White joined Plastic & Hand Surgical Associates in 1996.
Dr. Vaughan joined Plastic and Hand in 1999. He is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and also serves as Clinical Instructor at Maine Medical Center for Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Vaughan graduated from Haverford College and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his Residency in General Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. Dr. Vaughan completed a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore with training in Hand and Microvascular Surgery, and a Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
