The Woman’s Hospital Association (WHA) Rotating Art Gallery is featuring paintings by Ardys Arlin and Marvin Jacobs through May. The gallery is located at 60 High Street in Lewiston, the main entrance to Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC).
Arlin, who formerly owned a gallery and framing studio in New Hampshire, shares her life and art with Jacobs in their home in Belmont where she draws inspiration from the ever-changing colors of Maine’s rocky coast, inlets and harbors. Though she’s worked with graphics and logo designs, Arlin’s first love is watercolors, and her award-winning works are found in collections around the world.
Jacobs, a fourth generation artist, shares his love of Maine and its landscapes through his art. He’s well known throughout New England as an artist and painting teacher. Jacobs is also a member of the Society of Marine Painters, the American Society of Marine Artists and Coast Guard Artists.
The artists’ work may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop, located adjacent to the main lobby at Central Maine Medical Center. A percentage of sale proceeds benefit CMMC.
