"My healthcare philosophy is to treat the patient first, and the problem second. Oftentimes our patients' worries are different than their presenting problem. I think it's important to acknowledge and validate their concerns while treating their medical problems. For me, the best way to connect with patients is to listen to them, gather as much information as I can, educate and allow them to participate in their care as much as possible."
