Our residency program only accepts applications submitted through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System). Any application submitted via e-mail or fax will not be considered. All applicants must also be enrolled with the NRMP (National Resident Matching Program). Our deadline for receipt of all materials is December 1. We will review the applications upon receipt and contact competitive candidates to schedule personal interviews which are required for application to our program. Our interview season begins in mid October and runs through mid January. The interviews will include Program Director overview, interviews with faculty and residents and clinic/hospital tours. In addition, an expressed interest plus any experience in rural medicine should be evident on the application.
The Lewiston program participates in both the NRMP and AOA matches. However, the Rural Training Track participates only in the NRMP. For the purposes of the NRMP Match, the Rural Training Track has its own program number so applicants can apply to the Lewiston program, the Rural Training Track, or both. Refer to NRMP information for the program numbers (the main program number ends in "0" and the rural track ends in "1").
This training track has been approved by the Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. All other accreditations from the main program apply to the rural training track as well.
