The Central Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency this week welcomed seven medical students to a year of experience at the hospital. The seven third-year medical students from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine will spend the next year completing core clinical rotations.
This is the eleventh year the residency will serve as the coordinator of UNECOM’s “Clinical Campus.”
Rotations will include: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine (inpatient and outpatient), Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics and Surgery. In addition, the students will spend one educational block at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center completing a Psychiatry rotation, and another block in a community health/rural medicine rotation, which is often held at the Swift River Family Health Center, a Central Maine Healthcare practice in Rumford.
