Our Expertise
Telemedicine neurology uses streaming video to allow Mass General to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with other neurological emergencies, including seizures or sudden paralysis.
Central Maine Healthcare’s emergency doctors can consult at any time with one of Mass General’s neurologists, if potential stroke patients or other neurological patients present in the Emergency Department. Central Maine Medical Group neurologists can also consult with Massachusetts General doctors to get a second opinion.
CMH’s exceptionally skilled neurosurgery team treats patients with head and spine trauma cerebrovascular disorders, including:
- Brain aneurysms and vascular malformations
- Brain and spinal tumors
- Tremor, Parkinson’s and other movement disorders
In addition, our team treats brain and spine disorders, including:
- Cervical spine disorders
- Chronic low back pain
- Herniated disk
- Hydrocephalus
- Lumbar spinal stenosis
- Stroke (brain attack)
- Trigeminal neuralgia
- Brain and spinal tumors
Other procedures include the repair of ruptured discs in the spinal column, bleeding problems within the brain tissue or the surrounding membranes, tumor excision, or pituitary gland surgery.
