Food is an essential building block for whole body wellness. That is why Central Maine Healthcare has a team of dedicated dietitians on board at our various facilities. Whether you are managing a chronic condition, such as diabetes or heart disease, or are simply trying to make healthier choices, we have options to help you achieve your goals.
Services Available at CMH
All of our dietitians fall under – “The registered dietitians at CMMC are food and nutrition experts who have completed programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.” Please add this under the first section (paragraph starting with “food is an essential…) and not just under Central Maine Medical Center.
Central Maine Medical Center
Central Maine Medical Center’s dietitian team provides medical nutrition therapy for those staying in the hospital. They assist patients who may need nutrition education, are not eating well during their stay or cannot eat at all. The dietitians work with multidisciplinary teams to provide individualized nutrition care.
Central Maine Medical Center offers outpatient services in the endocrinology office where the dietitians focus on diabetes care, in the bariatric surgery office whose dietitians specialize in nutrition care surrounding bariatric surgery and in multiple oncology offices where the dietitians support patients throughout their cancer treatment. Our dietitians also provide nutrition education and support to patients in the cardiac rehab program at CMHVI.
