The Arbor House is a hospitality house near the Central Maine Medical Center campus. It provides free accommodations for patients traveling a long distance for medical treatments, and for families visiting loved ones who are hospitalized.
CMMC opened The Arbor House in 1993. Since opening, it has relocated to a larger building, in response to the need. So many of our patients and their loved ones have appreciated this temporary “home away from home.”
The Arbor House has five bedrooms on the first floor and two-bedroom apartments on the second and third floors. The building has a common room, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, a library, laundry facilities, a patio and garden. Bed linens and towels are provided. The only pets allowed are licensed therapy dogs. The library also has a computer. Residents staying there have access to the hospital cafeteria, as well.
