Central Maine Medical Center was the first hospital in Maine to establish a 24-hour emergency service. Since opening our doors in 1931, our ER has earned recognition for being one of the finest of its kind in the state.

Our dedicated team includes board-certified emergency physicians, as well as specially trained physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses, who provide around-the-clock care for a full range of urgent and critical care needs. You also have access to our lab and advanced imaging services right on-site, plus specialists and surgeons available at a moment’s notice.

LifeFlight Programs

CMMC is a home base for LifeFlight of Maine, the state’s only medical helicopter service that provides transport for trauma patients.

Powerful Partnership

As an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, CMMC offers telemedicine services to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological emergencies. Neurosurgeons in Boston can assess head trauma and possible stroke victims via streaming video and state-of-the-art scanning.
