Central Maine Healthcare is welcoming three new pediatric providers to Central Maine Pediatrics. The practice is located at Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston.
Molly Skog is a pediatric nurse practitioner (NP) who received her undergraduate degree from Saint Joseph’s College in Standish and completed her pediatric nurse practitioner training at Boston College.
Skog says an important part of her work is addressing the unique needs of every family in her care. “I believe it’s essential to gain an understanding of the individual needs of a child and family in order to provide care that will be of the utmost value for them and support optimal health and wellness,” she said.
Zachary Newton, MD, also received his undergraduate degree in Maine, at Colby College. He attended medical school at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Georgia and completed his residency at Dartmouth Health Children’s in New Hampshire.
Dr. Newton believes in offering patients a family-centered approach to provide effective, personalized care.
“I enjoy working together with children and their families to provide excellent pediatric care and maintain health going forward,” he said.
Claire Watson is a pediatric nurse practitioner who attended the University of Utah. She worked in Las Vegas before coming to Maine. Watson says providing strong preventative and mental health care for children are the keys to building healthy adults.
“I like to connect to my pediatric patients and their guardians on their level, and provide health education and treatment at whatever level they are ready to receive and understand it,” she said. “ I strive to provide collaborative and evidence-based care for my patients and their families.”
“These three outstanding providers will be a wonderful addition to the dedicated team at Central Maine Pediatrics and greatly benefit the children, adolescents and families of central Maine,” said Rebecca Brakeley, MD, chief of Women’s and Children’s Health at Central Maine Healthcare. “All of them come with significant experience in pediatrics and are committed to addressing the unique and varied needs of every family.”
