The Woman’s Hospital Association (WHA) at Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) held its 130th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 20.
The meeting began with donations presented to CMMC in the sum of $38,853.25. The Maine College of Health Professions for nursing and radiology and the Clinical Pastoral Education program received scholarship donations totaling $3,000. The Arbor House, CMMC’s hospitality house, received $1,460. Special Funds at the Bennett Breast Care Center, The Cynthia Rydholm Center, and the Dempsey Center received a total of $9,393.25 for services to cancer patients. The Information Services Department received the largest check of $25,000 to purchase new laptops for nurses to use at patient bedsides.
The meeting concluded with a presentation by Connie Benwitz on the role of quilt patterns in the Underground Railroad.
