Emergencies can happen at a moment’s notice. But at Bridgton Hospital, you and your family don’t have to travel far to get the fast, high-quality care you need.

The Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 by emergency medicine physicians and highly trained nurses, who treat thousands of patients each year throughout our Lake Region communities. Our team has access to advanced diagnostic technology and equipment and a full-service lab right onsite, and are backed by on-call medical and surgical specialists.

To ensure we provide expedited care, our ER also has a separate entrance and waiting area, seven examination rooms, plus a two-bay trauma room to address the most severe injuries.

LifeFlight Program

Bridgton Hospital is an important link in western Maine’s trauma treatment system. LifeFlight of Maine provides helicopter trauma service to Bridgton Hospital. A helicopter pad on the hospital campus allows rapid transfer of critically ill or injured patients to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston or other regional referral centers, so we can treat them quicker and better than ever before.

Powerful Partnership

As an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, Bridgton offers telemedicine services to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological emergencies. Neurosurgeons in Boston can assess patients with head trauma and possible stroke symptoms via streaming video and state-of-the-art scanning.
