Are you a high school student looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community and gain valuable experience? Central Maine Healthcare is excited to invite you to join our dedicated team of high school volunteers!

Volunteering in a hospital is a commendable and enriching experience for both the students and the healthcare institutions they serve. The Junior Volunteer program offers teens the opportunity to develop leadership skills, learn character and career-building skills, have exposure to health care operations, and learn more about medical careers.

Junior Volunteer Requirements

  • Be between the ages of 14 and 17
  • Pass a Background Check
  • Vaccinations Required: Varicella, MMR
  • Annual Flu Shot
  • TB test (completed by the hospital’s Employee Health & Wellness team)
  • Attend Volunteer Orientation
  • Commit to eight weeks of uninterrupted volunteer service, which includes coming in at least once a week, for four hours every week on a regular schedule (same day/same time every week)
  • Be responsible and independent

 

Orientation and Training: We provide comprehensive orientation and training to ensure you are well-prepared for and confident in your role. Your safety and the well-being of our patients are our top priorities.

Once an application is received, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Office to schedule an interview.
