The goal of the health services program is to work with employers to bring preventive and direct healthcare services to the workplace.  Swift River Occupational Health Services include preventive services, periodic screenings, drug and alcohol testing, and injury case management.

Preventive Services and Periodic Screenings

  • Audiometric hearing testing
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Breath alcohol testing
  • Department of Transportation physicals
  • School bus driver examinations
  • Body fluid exposure testing and counseling
  • Medical surveillance screenings for asbestos, lead, and TB
  • Urine collections for drug screenings (DOT and non-DOT)
  • Respirator exam and fit testing
  • Immunizations (hepatitis B, tetanus and diphtheria)
  • PPD testing for tuberculosis
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Pre-placement health screenings
  • Physical therapy services
  • Osteopathic manipulations
  • Lift assessment

On-site Services

  • Pulmonary function testing and respiratory clearance tests
  • Blood drawing (phlebotomy)
  • Immunizations (hepatitis B, tetanus and diphtheria)
  • Blood pressure testing
  • Urine drug collection for drug testing
  • Flu shot clinic

Injury Management/Case Management Services

The goal of Swift River Occupational Health Services’ injury management program is to provide:

  • Medical treatment of injured workers
  • Timely return-to-work
  • Reduced disability through a decrease in lost workdays
  • Assisting team members with returning to a suitable job while avoiding further injury
  • Referral for specialist consultations
  • Case management services designed to assess appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of occupational health treatment plans
  • Physical therapy/occupational therapy services
  • Timely and effective communication between occupational health providers, physical therapists, consulting specialists, and team members
  • Worksite evaluations.
