Foot Care Services- Podiatry

Rumford Hospital hosts a foot care service, also called podiatry, that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the foot, ankle and structure of the leg.

Podiatrists assist patients with a variety of conditions. They evaluate foot issues that may be causing chronic pain in other areas of the body. Frequently, podiatrists prescribe orthotics, physical therapy and/or medications. Podiatrists may also be able to identify systemic illnesses (such as diabetes and vascular disease), which often first show themselves in leg and feet issues.
